Take Me Out to the Ballet - Sponsors: Peg's Foundation and Akron Community Foundation
Ballet Theatre of Ohio’s collaboration with Akron Public Schools serves as many as 2,000 Akron school students each year in a program titled “Take Me Out to the Ballet”. Since 1999, more than 40,000 children have been exposed to the wonderful world of classical music and dance.

Ballet Theatre of Ohio productions are more than just a ballet - they are an experience! Upon arriving at the magnificent Akron Civic Theatre, our audience will feel the magic immediately as they step into the main lobby. Every production features a themed room which will take children on a magical journey. Our Nutcracker features a Santa's workshop complete with elves, reindeer and Santa himself! At the top of the grand staircase, people can be seen taking their traditional family picture in front of the 10 ft. Christmas tree, filled with nothing but Nutcrackers.
